Pilates Success Stories

I have a joint disorder so I was looking for a way to manage my pain and reduce acute injury. While other Pilates studios had an emphasis on body image and weight, Time Out Studio focused on health. My trainer, Beth, was not freaked out that I wear leg braces. I never expected to achieve these results to the extent that I did! I am stronger and more stable. I have been able to manage my pain and I haven't dislocated my shoulder for over 6 months. I have increased my range of abilities because I don't have to accomodate for injuries. My trainer brings individualized care that's responsive to my specific needs." Joan

"I have been living with stiffness in my hip for 20 years. I see a chiropractor, massage therapist and acupunturist. The stiffness was always there. I love to garden but I could only work in the yard 2-3 hours before I needed to grab the pain meds. I had to take time to recover from grocery shopping or walking around a museum. After 2-3 of Pilates 3 times a week I started to notice changes. My massage therapist couldn't believe how limber my piriformis was and my chiropractor noticed a huge improvement in my back. I feel more in tune mentally, my posture is better and I've got more endurance. I can now garden for 2-3 full days in a row. I know how to use my abs and take the work out of my back. I want to live my life fully and with zest!" Pat Soulak

"After doing Pilates reformer for 7 months I was able to gain strength in muscles that were weak and in pain before, as well as tone my body. It was the Pilates reformer that helped me get strong enough so I could work out more often." Karen Libra

Learn Pilates on the reformer, cadillac, chair and/or mat. It's therapeutic, it's a challenging pilates in minneapolisworkout, and a journey into a new way of moving. Our Pilates trainers work successfully with people with osteoporosis, back and neck pain, knee pain, spondylolisthesis and general muscle weakness.

The fastest and most effective way to learn Pilates and start getting results is to start with private sessions. If you have back pain, osteoporosis or other disorders, Pilates private sessions highly recommended over group classes. Your trainer will steer you clear of exercises that could exacerbate your condition, and focus on exercises to help you reduce pain and gain mobility.

Private Pilates or Duet Sessions?

pilates in minneapolisPrivate sessions offer the best results and the quickest learning. Work with your own Pilates Trainer on the Reformer, Chair, Cadillac and Mat. After an initial evaluation to establish your goals, your trainer will begin working with you on your specific needs. You'll feel the difference after your first appointment. We recommend duets if privates are not in your budget. To get the most out of duets, we recommend you choose a partner close to your ability.

After 10 sessions you feel the difference.

After 20 sessions you see the difference.

After 30 sessions you have a new body.

Pilates Mat Classes vs Equipment

Pilates Equipment vs Mat Only - Time Out Pilates & Fitness Studio - Lyndale Avenue - MinneapolisThe Classical Pilates Method is based on a full, integrated system of equipment - the Pilates Mat exercises are just one part of the entire Pilates technique. By adding equipment (reformers, cadillac and Pilates chair and barrel), you experience a more authentic, quality experience. The equipment works better and faster to change your body, as the springs on the equipment provide support and resistance, enhancing your core connection in a way that is difficult to do on the Mat alone. The equipment allows you to shape, tone, lengthen and align quite differently than the Mat. Additional advanced core work is available on equipment for the more accomplished practitioner. Last but not least, working on the equipment is fun!

Whether you take Mat classes alone or a combination of Pilates equipment and Mat, a mix of workout options is essential to getting the best results.
