Specialty Classes:Pilates Mat: Start with Level I. You'll learn the Pilates exercises and principles and work deeply using precise instruction and focus. Lots if individual attention and use of modifications when necessary. Behind Bars: Change the shape of your body with this intense toning class. You'll use the ballet bar, the floor, and small weights to tone hips, thighs, abs and arms. No shoes. All levels. Prerequisite: Intro Bar class.
Foam Roller Workshop: Learn how to "roll out" hamstrings, quads, gluteals and more using the foam roller, a 3 foot long, cylindrical piece of stiff foam. You "roll out" scar tissue and bring circulation to the area to improve the overall function of the muscle. Once you learn it, you can do it at home. |
Group Fitness ClassesBODYJAM: A dance/cardio workout. Dance combinations MTV style. So fun, you won't even realize you're working out! Learn a choreographed sequence. There is impact/jumping and twisting. Shoes. BODYPUMP: Strength training using the barbell and motivating music. No fancy steps. It's easy to learn and it's FUN. Not a great option for those with knee trouble. Shoes. CoreFusion: Total body strengthening. Use a varied combination of hand weights, body weight, balance moves and yoga poses to challenge your core, arms and legs. Plenty of stretching, too. Easy to learn. No shoes. |
BodyShaping: Tone and reshape your entire body using hand weights and a variety of strength training exercises and upbeat music. All levels. Shoes. Nia: Dance/cardio workout incorporating many different styles of movement including martial arts. Not difficult choreography. Good for those with joint problems. No jumping/pounding. No shoes. BODYSTEP: A fun, high energy step aerobics, high impact cardio class. Athletic style. Not dancy. Not a good class for beginning exercisers. Shoes with GOOD cushioning.
BODYFLOW: Yoga, tai chi and Pilates. Strengthening, stretching and relaxation to decrease stress. Plan to come more than once to learn the moves. Technique intensive. Not good for those with difficulty getting up and down off the floor. If you've done yoga, you'll recognize the classic poses. No shoes. Yoga: Classic yoga class with sun salutations, standing poses, hip openers,twists, forward folds and more. All levels welcome.
